Darfur Union: appello per la dignità delle donne del Darfur

Ricevo dalla Darfur Union, con sede in Olanda, un documento agghiacciante. Il Presidente sudanese Hassan Al-Bashir, avrebbe pronunciato, secondo quanto riportato dal principale oppositore politico Hassan Al-Turabi, nella sua ultima conferenza a Khartoum, la seguente frase, a proposito della piaga immane degli stupri in Darfur: "Se le donne dell'Ovest fanno sesso con un Jali [uomo del gruppo etnico di Bashir, ndr], questo non va considerato come uno stupro ma come un onore per lei".

Immediata l'indignazione di tutta la comunità darfuriana nel mondo che Italians for Darfur rilancia anche in Italia.
"The dictatorship-Al-Basher, president of Sudan, has said that ''If western woman( means Drfurian Female) got sex with one Jali (male from Al-Basher ethnic group) this will not be rape but its honor for for her."
This story has been told by Al- Turabi at his recent conference in Khartoum two weeks ago. Whoever, you could imagine the reaction of millions of sudanese people against a such un respected statement. That is why we are in Darfur Union as a civil society in the Netherlands addressing this issue to the friends of Darfur worldwide."
